Mike's Deli has been around for quite some time, but I just got hip to it a couple of years ago. They have a great selection of fine meats and cheeses, at grocery store prices, and an efficient operation. Mike's deli doesn't try to do anything too fancy to convince you its a "New York" deli, they just bring a sandwich that is a full meal in itself. Pastrami on Rye, hot is excellent. Mike's Deli is located at 4859 W Slauson Ave in Los Angeles. Call ahead to place your order. The lines can be pretty long. (323) 298-5960. I think I may get a sandwich on the way home...
